This campaign for Irish Rail reminds first year students that the train is always their ticket to student life and back home, whenever they need it. We used ticket as a window, combining the home and college scenes. The scenes were built together, existing in tandem so everything could be shot in-frame instead of retouching which gives a unique look and feel.
A simple print ad for literacy charity, SUAS, shows the power literacy has to change the lives of children. Learning to read and write can open up a world of opportunities and we wanted to show the potential volunteers just how much difference they could make to a child’s life. We utilised the newspaper paper to deliver a powerful message;
“When you can read everything, it changes everything.”
This 2-sided print ad that tells the story of a young child with literacy problems, on the reverse side we continued the story. Thanks to the thin newsprint paper, when the ad is held up to the light, the extra words change the story entirely from a negative to a positive. Demonstrating that being able to read everything really can change everything.
For the IAPI An Post Direct Challenge, we made our campaign as direct as we could. Our medium of choice? A simple letter.
To demonstrate the idea, we wrote specifically for the judges, each receiving a different letter. We found extremely personal information about the lives of our four judges and then changed the information, so it is appears slightly inaccurate. The judges names are misspelt by one letter, the dates are one day out, the place names are ones of neighbouring towns. The personal information becomes increasingly inaccurate as you read down through the letter.
We wanted them to be momentarily disturbed, confused and suspicious of the sender. These letters are intended to make the recipient pause, giving them a momentary glimpse of what the condition could feel like, even if just for a moment.

Smart camera work seamlessly connects each transition, maintaining the narrative’s momentum and light-hearted tone. The ad portrays heartfelt montages of one family, with moments ranging from the everyday to the more unexpected – from keeping the house cosy and warm, to unforgettable experiences such as a VIP night-out at the theatre or the opportunity to be a flag-bearer at the GAA hurling championships.
